Acoustic music festival

The School held a fantastic fundraising event on 'The Land' (as the Iona grounds are known) yesterday (July 15th).

There was a real festival atmosphere as people picnicked and enjoyed the stalls, followed by live music from acts including Saverio (amazing flamenco guitar duo), Just Ben and Agent Lala.

An excellent event, and a great end to the school year and kick start for the project!

Just Giving site launched

We've put together a Just Giving Site for the project- the objective is to raise funds for the materials.

Practical and professional support has rolled in for the project, but we still need a budget for materials. The plan is to use as much that can be found, scrounged and donated as possible, but the thing definitely postively needs to stand up, and for that some decent solid materials will have to be bought. We also need to hire a number of bits of machinery, including a hole borer (otherwise we'll spend 2 weeks just digging out post holes)...

Please please please... give generously to support the project :)

Poster

Fundraising starts in earnest- this is the poster which has gone up all around the School. We hope you like it!

As you can see- support for the project has come in from Price & Myers, excellent Nottingham based engineers who have agreed to do the structural design pro-bono to support the project! A real boost.

Sketch designs

Time to do some visualisation of how the shelter might look... here are some initial sketches.

The overall idea is to create a strong connection between the landscape and the shelter.
